We're looking for a resilient and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with ASD and highly challenging behaviour in a Camden primary school. This role requires consistency, confidence and the ability to build trust when things aren't always straightforward. Every day will be different, but the impact you'll make will be huge.
Availability: full‑time start in September. This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support to a Year 4 pupil with ASD and challenging behaviour
- Build trust and rapport with the pupil and the school staff
- Apply a calm, firm and positive approach to behaviour management
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
- Calm, firm, positive working style
- Relevant qualifications for the role (e.g., Level 2 in Working with Children)
Other Requirements
- Full‑time availability starting September
- Up‑to‑date DBS or willingness to allow Axcis to process one
- Compliance with safeguarding and welfare of children and young people policies
- Exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 for work with children or vulnerable adults
- Prepared to attend a face‑to‑face interview to demonstrate suitability
