Axcis are working with a welcoming, inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets with a well-developed SEND provision, seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and communication needs. The school places strong emphasis on early intervention, inclusive practice and partnership with families, and has a dedicated SENCO who works closely with support staff. The school is well connected via the DLR, Overground and local bus routes, making it easily accessible across East London.

In this role, you will be:

  • Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small-group basis across the school day.
  • Using visual timetables, structured routines and communication tools to support understanding.
  • Encouraging social interaction, independence and emotional regulation.
  • Supporting access to the curriculum across English, maths and topic lessons.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and therapists to support EHCP outcomes.
