We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide 1:1 support for a Year 7 pupil with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and complex learning needs within a welcoming all-through special school. This is a highly rewarding role where you'll play a key part in helping a young person build confidence and achieve success. Responsibilities- Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 7 pupil with SEMH and complex needs.
- Building a trusting and positive relationship with the student.
- Supporting emotional regulation, engagement and participation throughout the school day.
- Encouraging independence, social development and positive behaviour.
- Responding calmly and effectively to challenging situations when they arise.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, complex needs or other SEND needs.
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualifications are desirable but not essential.
