An ambitious secondary school in Islington is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant with a Maths specialism to support students with additional learning needs across KS3 and KS4. The role will focus on supporting pupils with a range of mild to moderate SEND, both within mainstream lessons and through targeted small group maths interventions designed to improve confidence, engagement, and progress.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in‑class support for students with SEND.
  • Deliver targeted numeracy and maths intervention sessions.
  • Support students with EHCPs and differentiated learning.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Liaise effectively with teaching staff and the SEN department.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school support role.
  • Strong maths knowledge and confidence supporting numeracy.
  • Experience supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A calm, positive, and supportive manner.
