We are seeking a passionate and creative Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and vibrant school community in Wandsworth. This role is ideal for a recent Drama graduate who is enthusiastic about education and keen to use their creativity, communication skills, and performance background to support pupils’ learning and personal development.
About the Role:
As a Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support learning across the classroom while bringing creativity, confidence, and engagement into lessons. You will play a key role in supporting pupils through expressive activities, helping to build confidence, communication skills, and positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons
- Use drama-based techniques to support pupils’ confidence, communication, and emotional expression
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and engagement
- Assist with the preparation of creative learning materials and classroom resources
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Support pupils with additional needs, including those requiring emotional or behavioural support
- Monitor pupils’ progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Support classroom organisation and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
- A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related subject
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in education, teaching, or youth work
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable)
- Confidence, creativity, and strong communication skills
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo checks
- A commitment to inclusion, equality, and supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
