Axcis Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist educational setting in the Herne Hill area of South London for a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people of all ages with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.
Role Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:15pm
- Contract: Full-time, term‑time only
About the Role
You will be supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including:
- Complex medical needs
- Autism (ASC)
- Physical disabilities
- Behavioural needs
The role requires a proactive and caring individual who is committed to making a positive impact on students' daily lives and learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support
- Assist with learning activities tailored to individual needs
- Support students’ physical, emotional, and social development
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists
- Assist with personal care when required
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Willingness to support personal care needs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Full‑time availability (this is not a part‑time role)
