Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience in a SEND setting
- Leadership and management experience
- Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and behaviour in SEND education
- Communication, coaching and staff development skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Key Responsibilities
- Support strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of the school
- Lead a key stage, pathway or cluster of classes
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
- Line‑manage teachers, HLTAs and support staff
- Lead performance management, coaching and professional development
- Oversee curriculum delivery, behaviour and assessment practices
- Chair Annual Reviews and support EHCP processes
- Build positive relationships with families, external agencies and partner schools
- Take strategic responsibility for key areas including Annual Reviews & EHCPs, Assessment & Accreditation, Post‑16 Provision, Enrichment, or Student Voice
