Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience in a SEND setting
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and behaviour in SEND education
  • Communication, coaching and staff development skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Key Responsibilities

  • Support strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of the school
  • Lead a key stage, pathway or cluster of classes
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
  • Line‑manage teachers, HLTAs and support staff
  • Lead performance management, coaching and professional development
  • Oversee curriculum delivery, behaviour and assessment practices
  • Chair Annual Reviews and support EHCP processes
  • Build positive relationships with families, external agencies and partner schools
  • Take strategic responsibility for key areas including Annual Reviews & EHCPs, Assessment & Accreditation, Post‑16 Provision, Enrichment, or Student Voice
