We are working with an all boys secondary school in SW19 who are seeking a focused and academically strong Academic Teaching Assistant to support pupils working towards their GCSEs. This role is ideal for someone with a strong academic background and proven SEND experience, who is confident supporting secondary-aged students to achieve their academic potential.

The Role:

  • Providing targeted academic support across KS3 and KS4, with a strong focus on GCSE subjects
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs, including SEMH, ASD and learning difficulties
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group academic interventions
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged, organised and on task in lessons
  • Working closely with subject teachers to reinforce learning and progress

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school setting
  • Holds a strong academic background (degree or equivalent desirable)
  • Is confident supporting learning in core subjects, particularly English and Maths
  • Is calm, consistent and able to build positive working relationships with teenage boys
  • Is reliable, proactive and committed to pupil progress
