Here at Axcis Education, we are recruiting for full-time and part-time teaching assistants to work with students aged 10 to 19 with additional needs at a large SEND school in Preston (PR25). The students in this school have a large range of special needs such as autism, SEMH, communication difficulties and more. Pay rates begin at £13.69 an hour and may increase depending on experience. Transport links are offered from Preston city centre and surrounding areas, and free parking is provided on site.
You will be required to work with the pupils in a range of lessons and support the teacher in the delivery of engaging activities. There is plenty of opportunity to gain more experience with different types of SEND in this school. The role will start as soon as possible and candidates applying for this role must be available to work 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Brilliant communication skills, empathy and patience
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (if you do not have this, we can guide you through the process)
- 6 months of relevant experience OR a relevant qualification
- A genuine desire to make a difference to young people’s lives
