KS1 Teacher Job in Leatherhead We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive Infant School in Leatherhead, Surrey from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Primary Teacher or confident KS1 practitioner to take responsibility for a Year 2 class and make a positive impact on pupils' learning, development and achievement.

The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering engaging lessons, creating a nurturing classroom environment and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging and high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
  • Lead and manage a Year 2 class effectively.
  • Assess, monitor and track pupil progress.
  • Differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and classroom management.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
  • Experience teaching Year 2 is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment framework.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Confidence using Google Classroom, or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to the platform, as it is used throughout the school to support teaching and learning.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
