Axcis Education is seeking a Lead Vocational Instructor for a full‑time role (36 hours per week).

Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Design, implement, and deliver construction vocational courses that align with City and Guilds standards.
  • Programme Management: Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the construction vocational programmes, ensuring high‑quality delivery of training and assessment.
  • Lesson delivery and Assessment: Lead classes and deliver engaging and effective training sessions in various construction‑related subjects. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor staff involved in the delivery of construction courses, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with relevant education and training regulations as well as City and Guilds’ requirements.
  • Industry Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with construction industry stakeholders, employers, and community organisations.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Pastoral: Promote and set high expectations of attendance and behaviour.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and possess relevant experience in vocational education.
  • You will be required to provide an up‑to‑date DBS or allow Axcis to process one on your behalf in line with DfE guidelines.
  • If the role involves working with children or vulnerable adults, the post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.
