Axcis Education are working closely to support a well-regarded mainstream primary school in Torbay, which requires a passionate full-time Key Stage 2 Teacher to lead a Year 5 and 6 class. This role delivers subjects across the national curriculum. Hours are 8:30–16:00, and the daily rate is between £175–£250 depending on previous experience and qualifications and reflective of Main Pay Scale experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and teach a Year 5 and 6 class in a mainstream primary setting.
  • Deliver lessons across the national curriculum.
  • Create a positive learning environment and implement inventive, flexible teaching strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience working with students in Year 5 and 6.
  • Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with students.
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and delivering learning in a creative, flexible way.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required for this role.

  • Start date: June 2026 (after half term), or as close to.
  • Days: Monday to Friday (Full Time - maternity cover).
  • Location: Torbay, Devon.

  • Salary: Paid against Main Pay Scale for Qualified Teachers (Daily Equivalent).
  • Hours: 8:30–16:00.
