Overview
A mainstream college with a dedicated SEND department is recruiting for a long-term SEND Teaching Assistant to support students aged post-16. The role is available 4 or 5 days per week (depending on availability) and involves supporting students with a range of complex needs, including ASD, SEMH, anxiety, behavioural needs, and MLD/SLD. Support will be matched to your experience and strengths.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-class and individual SEND support to post-16 students
- Support learning, engagement, and behaviour
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team
- Support students’ independence and wellbeing
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven experience working with post-16 students as a teaching assistant
- Experience in a college or secondary school setting as a teaching assistant
- Confident supporting students with complex and varied SEND needs
- Patient, adaptable, and reliable
Additional Information
- Days: 4 or 5 days per week (preference-based)
