We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist education provision in Hampton, supporting pupils aged 4–11 years with a range of additional needs. The setting provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with moderate learning needs, many of whom have additional complex needs, including Autism. All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and staff work together to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will provide essential classroom support, helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to deliver personalised support based on each pupil’s needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism and complex learning needs
- Assist with classroom activities and help pupils engage with their learning
- Support communication, social development, and independence skills
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider support team
- Provide tailored support to help pupils reach their full potential
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
- A patient, caring, and understanding approach
- The ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning and communication needs
- A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Salary / Pay rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
