We are seeking a dedicated Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teaching Assistant to support a mainstream classroom in Godalming. Working closely with the class teacher, you will implement individualized strategies that promote inclusion, learning, and wellbeing for pupils on the autism spectrum.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored support to students with ASD, adapting materials and activities to meet individual needs.
- Facilitate social-communication skills through structured play, visual aids, and peer-mediated interactions.
- Monitor and record progress, sharing observations with the teacher and external specialists.
- Assist with behaviour-management plans, employing positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
- Prepare and organise sensory-friendly environments and resources.

Essential Requirements
- Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Teaching Assistant work or Special Educational Needs.
