About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Groundskeeper to support the upkeep of the outdoor areas at our secondary school in Barnet. This is a part-time role for one day per week, ideally on a Monday or Friday, helping to ensure the school grounds remain safe, tidy, and well maintained for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- General maintenance of school grounds including lawns, pathways, and planted areas
- Grass cutting, edging, and hedge trimming
- Leaf clearing and seasonal grounds maintenance
- Basic upkeep of sports fields and outdoor spaces
- Litter picking and ensuring grounds are clean and presentable
- Identifying and reporting any maintenance or safety issues
Requirements
- Previous groundskeeping or landscape maintenance experience (essential)
- Ability to operate basic grounds maintenance equipment safely
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining outdoor spaces
- Understanding of health and safety when working on school premises
