About the Role

Teaching Assistant / HLTA – SEN (Autism & Complex Needs) – Greenford, Ealing.

Start Date: ASAP. Contract: Full-time, Long-Term. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:45pm. Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.
  • Use communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to support learning and engagement.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Assist in delivering and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress.
  • Contribute to planning, review, and progress meetings.
  • Support classroom teachers and lead activities where appropriate (HLTA experience beneficial).

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children with Autism and/or complex needs.
  • HLTA experience or qualifications would be highly advantageous.
  • EYFS or SEND school experience desirable.
  • Confidence using PECS and familiarity with Makaton.
  • Willingness to provide personal care support.
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
