Graduate Behaviour Assistant Caerphilly Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Contract: Temporary with potential to become permanent Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs in a nurturing, structured environment? We are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist provision supporting pupils aged 5–19 who require an alternative to mainstream schooling due to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties. This setting provides a highly personalised, therapeutic environment with small classes focused on helping learners build confidence, resilience, and life skills. Key Responsibilities: • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and associated behavioural challenges • Assist with structured classroom activities, emotional regulation strategies, and life skills development • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff to support pupil wellbeing and progress • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning atmosphere What We\’re Looking For: • Experience working with pupils with SEMH, ASD, or challenging behaviours is highly desirable • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour management • Strong communication and teamworking skills • A genuine commitment to inclusive education and supporting vulnerable young people We Welcome Applications From Individuals With Experience In: • Care or residential settings, youth work, or family support roles • Supporting young people with additional needs or mental health challenges • Backgrounds in education, social care, psychology, or therapeutic support Axcis Education look forward to hearing from you, please send your CV to kathryn@axcis.co.uk
