I am delighted to be working in close partnership with a large college based in Gloucester supporting them in their recruitment of learning support workers for September and the next full academic year 2026-2027. This well-renowned college with different sites across Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cinderford and Newent is looking for full-time learning support workers to start from Monday 7th September and continue until June/July 2027. The hours will be between 30-35 hours per week, usually Monday to Friday 09:00-16:00 or 08:30-16:30 or similar, and the pay will be between £14.25 and £16.00 per hour (dependent on previous experience) paid weekly, a week in arrears.
Responsibilities
- Provide theory and practical based support both on a 1-1 and small group basis for students with mild learning difficulties, SEMH (social, emotional and mental health), autism, ADHD and other learning difficulties.
- The support will be delivered across various subjects such as animal management, sport, mechanics, agriculture and music.
- Assist students in achieving their learning goals and progressing through their curriculum.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Passionate about education, particularly Further Education.
- Has a hobby or interest such as sports, music or animals.
- Adaptable and approachable attitude.
- Prior experience personally or professionally with SEND – special educational needs and disabilities.
- Reliable, hardworking and committed.
