Axcis Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist educational setting in the Herne Hill area of South London for a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people of all ages with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.

Role Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:15pm
  • Contract: Full-time, term‑time only

About the Role

You will be supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including:

  • Complex medical needs
  • Autism (ASC)
  • Physical disabilities
  • Behavioural needs

The role requires a proactive and caring individual who is committed to making a positive impact on students' daily lives and learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Assist with learning activities tailored to individual needs
  • Support students’ physical, emotional, and social development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists
  • Assist with personal care when required

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Willingness to support personal care needs
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Full‑time availability (this is not a part‑time role)
