Location: Near Solihull Pay Rate: Β£92.63 per day Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm) Start Date: September 2026

Axcis Education is recruiting for a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school near Solihull, supporting an EYFS class of pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support EYFS pupils with complex learning, communication, and developmental needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils as they settle into their new school environment.
  • Get to know each child's individual needs, personality, communication methods, and learning preferences.
  • Assist children in accessing learning through play-based, sensory, and engaging activities.
  • Support the development of communication, social, emotional, and independence skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver personalised support.
  • Promote positive routines and help pupils feel secure throughout the school day.
  • Support personal care and wellbeing where required.
  • Create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where children can thrive.

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs.
  • A patient, nurturing, and relationship-focused approach.
  • The ability to build trust and rapport with children who may be new to education or specialist provision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Experience within Early Years, SEND, care, or support work (desirable).
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
