Axcis Education is recruiting for a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school near Solihull, supporting an EYFS class of pupils with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support EYFS pupils with complex learning, communication, and developmental needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils as they settle into their new school environment.
- Get to know each child's individual needs, personality, communication methods, and learning preferences.
- Assist children in accessing learning through play-based, sensory, and engaging activities.
- Support the development of communication, social, emotional, and independence skills.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver personalised support.
- Promote positive routines and help pupils feel secure throughout the school day.
- Support personal care and wellbeing where required.
- Create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where children can thrive.
About You
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs.
- A patient, nurturing, and relationship-focused approach.
- The ability to build trust and rapport with children who may be new to education or specialist provision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
- Experience within Early Years, SEND, care, or support work (desirable).
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
