Axcis Education is offering a long‑term opportunity for a Learning Coach in Exeter to support secondary aged students with social and emotional needs. The role involves providing safeguarding, behaviour management, and building trusting relationships that help students grow educationally, independently, and as young people in the community.
Responsibilities
- Support students’ self‑esteem, engagement and communication.
- Facilitate community activities, school trips and two half‑days of P.E. in the local gym.
- Teach mixed‑ability classes that follow the national curriculum while promoting small class sizes and independence.
- Help students manage emotions and build confidence as they transition from school to independent living.
Qualifications & Preferences
- Strong ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable young people.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Resilience and capacity to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Enthusiasm for a long‑term commitment and desire to progress within the company.
- Sporty background and experience within SEND or mental health is desirable.
- Driver’s licence an advantage for leading community trips 1‑to‑1.
Working Hours & Schedule
ASAP start for the remainder of the summer term with a return in September. Monday to Friday, 8:45 – 4:15, with weekends off.
Remuneration
Salary or pay rate will depend on skills and experience.
