Overview

In preparation for examinations over the remainder of the Autumn term we want to get all exam invigilators registered ASAP so that their compliance checks and training are complete in preparation for the exams to start in October/November this year. Exam invigilators supervise students during exams and ensure exam regulations are met. To work as an exam invigilator you will need to complete a short, online course to be certified by JQC (Join Council for Qualifications); we will provide this course to you as part of the registration process with Axcis Education.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor that there is no speaking by students during the exam
  • Ensure there is no cheating
  • Provide students with the necessary equipment to complete the exam – eg paper, stationery
  • Distribute and collect exam papers
  • Support any students that may be unwell during the exam
  • Start and finish the exams
  • Support any stressed or panicked students
  • Maintain alertness throughout the exam which could last 3 hours
  • Exude calm demeanor

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
  • Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
