About the Role

  • Deliver individual and small‑group ELSA interventions to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
  • Help children develop emotional literacy, resilience, self‑esteem and positive coping strategies.
  • Support pupils experiencing anxiety, friendship difficulties, bereavement, emotional regulation challenges and low confidence.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers and pastoral team to implement targeted support plans.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that enable pupils to thrive both emotionally and academically.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and support planning.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a recognised ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) qualification.
  • Has experience supporting primary‑aged pupils with SEMH or emotional wellbeing needs.
  • Is calm, patient, compassionate and an excellent listener.
  • Can build strong professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Is passionate about promoting positive mental health and removing barriers to learning.
