Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (TA)

Hours: 08:00 – 15:30
Salary: Paid to national (or school) scale
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive team in Ashtead. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, personalised support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with class teachers to promote academic progress, independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND.
Provide one-to‐one or small-group support, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
Facilitate the use of assistive technology and adaptive resources.
Monitor and record pupil progress, communicating observations to teachers and parents.
Foster a safe, respectful and stimulating classroom environment.
Contribute to team meetings, safeguarding duties and professional development activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Level 2 (or higher) Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in a Secondary School setting, or equivalent.
Experience working with children who have SEND, preferably in a mainstream secondary school.
Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies.
First Aid and DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
