Axcis Education is looking for a Vocational Instructor to teach secondary pupils in an alternative provision workshop environment. The instructor will support pupils at risk of exclusion, build confidence, manage behaviour, and teach vocational skills such as bricklaying, plumbing, woodworking, painting and decorating, and Design Technology.
Responsibilities
- Teach early professional stages and provide industry knowledge.
- Lead workshops incorporating self-awareness and communication skills.
- Work with pupils’ educational health care plans.
- Assist in linking pupils to apprenticeship opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in the construction or related industry.
- At least one construction skill (e.g., bricklaying, plumbing).
- Teaching experience or confidence working with young people preferred.
- Ability to work with pupils with behavioural challenges.
Pay and Hours
- £100–£130 per day, worked 8:30–3:30 pm, five days a week.
- This is a long-term role with potential to become a permanent position within the school.
