Role Overview
We’re recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in an alternative provision in Exeter, starting this September. Use your coaching expertise to support children with a range of additional needs in the classroom and help them grow through physical activity.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting pupils in the classroom.
- Adapting coaching approaches to meet diverse needs and abilities.
- Encouraging teamwork, communication and self‑confidence.
- Assisting in classroom activities when not leading physical sessions.
- Helping with behaviour support and emotional regulation.
- Playing a key role in school trips or outreach programmes.
- Collaborating with teachers and therapists to track progress and plan next steps.
- Participating in team meetings and relevant training.
About You
- Experienced working with children or young people (experience with SEND is ideal).
- Confident in delivering or assisting with sports and curriculum lessons.
- Capable of adapting to a variety of learning and behavioural needs.
- Enthusiastic, resilient and calm under pressure.
- A strong communicator and natural team player.
- Aware of safeguarding procedures and committed to the wellbeing of all pupils.
