Axcis are recruiting for a secondary teacher, starting in September, full-time, qualified teacher to start at a SEND school in Exeter. Teachers with primary and secondary experience are desirable to the school as every class has mixed abilities and levels. The school are looking for long term members of staff which can lead to a permanent role if successful.

The school caters for students aged 11–16 who have been removed from mainstream schooling with an education health care plan presenting high anxiety and autism. The school have great resources such as a wellbeing room, social hub, big Art class, outsourcing P.E teacher and cooking. They follow the national curriculum and the children will remain in this school until they leave at 16.

The school is a very open, honest and independent setting giving the students accountability and maturity to control their emotions and trauma. The role is to teach core subjects from year 7 to year 10 level, which will most likely be lower ability classes. The class sizes are no more than 6 pupils with 2 learning mentors assisting your class.

The school have many classes taking place outside of your time which gives you valuable PPA time for planning. They are looking for a qualified and experienced teacher to join the ambitious team to continue the success of the school. You must be committed to raising standards through superb teaching and learning, passionate about education and enabling all pupils to achieve in all aspects of school.

The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:30 and we pay to teacher scale. This role is to start ASAP with the likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate. This is for a September start.
