This is a unique opportunity for a HLTA to join a highly regarded SEND school in Dawlish, Devon to start in September. The role will involve working throughout KS1 and KS2, covering classes for part of the day whilst a class teacher is working elsewhere. The majority of the post will be focused on small interventions, covering PPA time and general TA work. The school offers excellent long‑term progression opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with groups of children in activities set by the teacher.
  • Help with resources such as printing, photocopying and exhibiting.
  • Eliminate resources after class.
  • Work in the classroom assisting the teacher.
  • Support SEND pupils with ASC, complex needs and communication difficulties.
  • Provide cover for classes for part of the day whilst a class teacher is working elsewhere.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified HLTA or equivalent.
  • Proactive, lively and able to form positive bonds with pupils.
  • Ready to work with children across KS1‑KS2.
  • Must provide an up‑to‑date DBS or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf.
  • Must comply with DfE guidelines and other mandatory checks.
