Axcis are supporting a secondary school in Barking & Dagenham who are seeking a confident SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour. The school has clear routines, strong pastoral systems and a consistent behaviour framework in place. The site is accessible via public transport and offers parking for staff.
In this role, you will be:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in lessons and structured interventions.
- Using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches.
- Working 1:1 and in small groups to support engagement and learning.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
