We are seeking a caring, adaptable and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide support for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. About the Role:

  • Working closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers, your role will involve:
  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups with learning, behaviour, or emotional needs
  • Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans
  • Adapting classroom materials to suit different learning styles and needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Providing personal care or mobility support where required (training provided)

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Is calm, reliable and able to respond flexibly to the needs of the day
  • Has a positive, pupil-centred approach with clear boundaries
  • Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed

Desirable:

  • A relevant Level 2/3 TA or SEN qualification
  • Experience with EHCPs, Makaton, PECS or other communication tools
  • Previous experience in a specialist provision or inclusive mainstream setting
