We are seeking a caring, adaptable and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide support for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children who benefit from additional help to reach their full potential — academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role:
- Working closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers, your role will involve:
- Supporting individual pupils or small groups with learning, behaviour, or emotional needs
- Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans
- Adapting classroom materials to suit different learning styles and needs
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
- Providing personal care or mobility support where required (training provided)
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Is calm, reliable and able to respond flexibly to the needs of the day
- Has a positive, pupil-centred approach with clear boundaries
- Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed
Desirable:
- A relevant Level 2/3 TA or SEN qualification
- Experience with EHCPs, Makaton, PECS or other communication tools
- Previous experience in a specialist provision or inclusive mainstream setting
