We are currently seeking individuals from the care sector to transition into an educational setting as a Teaching Assistant in a primary and secondary school within the B21 area. In this role, you will have the rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who have ASD, PMLD and complex needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with students to provide one‑on‑one support tailored to their specific needs and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting personal growth and independence.
  • Assist students in acquiring and developing essential life skills such as communication, problem‑solving, and self‑care.
  • Collaborate with staff to create individualized learning plans and monitor student progress.
  • Uphold a safe and secure environment, ensuring the welfare and well‑being of the students at all times.

Qualifications

  • Holding a Child and Adult DBS on the Updated Service.
  • Experience in care settings is highly desirable, as you will be required to provide personal care.
  • An understanding of autism and other learning difficulties is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs and challenges of the students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals.

Contract Details

  • Full‑time and part‑time positions available.
  • Temporary to permanent contract for the right candidate.
  • Salary and pay rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
