A warm and welcoming college in Bromley is seeking caring and creative SEND LSAs to support students aged 16+ with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD and physical disabilities. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and supporting young people in both educational and everyday life skills. The role is very varied and hands-on, involving support across engaging activities such as arts and crafts, drama, cooking sessions and community-based learning. You will also support students on day outings and trips, helping them develop confidence, independence and social skills in real-world settings. A strong focus is placed on independent living and life skills, making this an ideal role for someone with a nurturing, foster-style approach to support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom-based and 1:1 SEND support
- Support students with arts, crafts, drama and practical learning activities
- Assist with cooking sessions and independent living programmes
- Support students on day outings, trips and community activities
- Encourage communication, confidence and social development
- Provide personal care where required
- Work closely with teaching staff, families and external professionals
Requirements
- Experience supporting young people aged 16+ with SEND (college, education or support work background)
- A caring, patient and empathetic approach
- Comfortable supporting personal care when needed
- Child & adult DBS
- Reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting independence
