About the Role
We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support two Year 3 pupils with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is energetic, patient, and passionate about supporting children with SEND in a nurturing primary school environment.
Pupil 1 Details
- A bright, engaging child with suspected ADHD/ASC (currently undiagnosed) who has experienced periods of dysregulation and disengagement, including previous exclusions.
- Currently on a part‑time timetable (mornings only), with the aim of returning to full‑time as soon as possible.
- Parents are highly supportive, and the school is in the process of submitting an ENC needs assessment.
Requirements for Pupil 1
- Clear boundaries and consistent support
- Daily 1:1 reading and phonics catch‑up sessions
- Regular sensory breaks throughout the day
Pupil 2 Details
- Has an EHCP and no behavioural concerns.
Requirements for Pupil 2
- Regular check‑ins throughout the day
- Support with transitions
- Reminders to attend to personal care (toileting)
- Help staying on task during lessons
- Use of visual timetables
- 1:1 handwriting and reading sessions
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ADHD, ASC, or learning needs
- Is calm, consistent, and energetic
- Confident delivering 1:1 interventions
- Able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
- Comfortable working closely with class teachers and SEN staff
