About the Role

We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support two Year 3 pupils with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is energetic, patient, and passionate about supporting children with SEND in a nurturing primary school environment.

Pupil 1 Details

  • A bright, engaging child with suspected ADHD/ASC (currently undiagnosed) who has experienced periods of dysregulation and disengagement, including previous exclusions.
  • Currently on a part‑time timetable (mornings only), with the aim of returning to full‑time as soon as possible.
  • Parents are highly supportive, and the school is in the process of submitting an ENC needs assessment.

Requirements for Pupil 1

  • Clear boundaries and consistent support
  • Daily 1:1 reading and phonics catch‑up sessions
  • Regular sensory breaks throughout the day

Pupil 2 Details

  • Has an EHCP and no behavioural concerns.

Requirements for Pupil 2

  • Regular check‑ins throughout the day
  • Support with transitions
  • Reminders to attend to personal care (toileting)
  • Help staying on task during lessons
  • Use of visual timetables
  • 1:1 handwriting and reading sessions

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ADHD, ASC, or learning needs
  • Is calm, consistent, and energetic
  • Confident delivering 1:1 interventions
  • Able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
  • Comfortable working closely with class teachers and SEN staff
