Axcis Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Bedminster, Bristol, to recruit a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for the full academic year starting in September. This rewarding role is based within the school's Specialist Resource Base, which supports primary‑aged pupils with Speech and Language delays, Autism, and associated communication needs. The resource base provides a structured, nurturing environment where children receive tailored support to help them access learning, develop confidence and reach their full potential.
About the Role
- Support primary‑aged pupils within the school's Specialist Resource Base
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with Speech and Language needs, Autism and communication difficulties
- Deliver targeted interventions to develop pupils' communication, social interaction and independence
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals to implement personalised support plans
- Create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment where every child feels supported to succeed
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and meaningful participation in school life
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism and Speech & Language needs (desirable but not essential)
- Is patient, caring and passionate about inclusive education
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Can adapt their approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil
- Is committed to helping children build confidence, independence and communication skills
