Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you thrive in environments where you can use your initiative to support individuals with challenging behaviour? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Axcis Education are thrilled to work with a SEND school based in Weston Super Mare that is looking for a full-time teaching assistant to support students across the school and year groups. The school caters to children who have SEMH needs; therefore experience working with similar individuals is essential. The ideal candidate will be calm, patient and compassionate. The hours for this role are 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday and the hourly rate of pay starts at £13.69.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with challenging behaviours and SEMH, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist teaching staff in implementing individualised behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team as needed.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for supporting students with SEND.
  • Strong communication and written English skills.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service is required, either one you currently have or can apply for as part of the process (INDSW).

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise. You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face-to-face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
