A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bournemouth is seeking enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join the specialist SEND Provision from September 2026. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SEND professionals, pastoral staff and families to provide tailored support that enables pupils to thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with ASC and SEMH needs within the specialist SEND Provision
  • Deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning activities
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Promote emotional regulation, independence and engagement in learning
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists and families
  • Support pupils in the provision and during integration across the school

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly ASC and/or SEMH
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
  • Passion for helping children achieve their full potential
  • Previous experience within a school, SEND provision or similar setting desirable
