Axcis Education is recruiting full-time and part-time SEND Teaching Assistants for a large specialist school in Blackburn, starting in September 2026. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in care, support work, healthcare, or residential settings who are looking to move into education. The school supports pupils aged 4β19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and complex needs.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll support pupils with their learning, communication, independence, and personal care where required. The school offers excellent training, supportive staff, specialist facilities, and opportunities for permanent employment for successful candidates.
We're looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in a care, support, healthcare, or SEND setting (preferred)
- Experience supporting individuals with autism or additional needs
- A willingness to provide personal care
- PECS, Makaton, moving and handling, or hoisting experience (desirable)
- A caring, proactive, and reliable approach
