Axcis Education is seeking a personable and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with speech and language needs. This opportunity would also suit a recent Speech and Language graduate or someone who has gained relevant experience through another profession. Role based in Erdington, this welcoming and supportive primary school is committed to celebrating the successes of both students and staff. The position is full-time, starting in September and operates Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Support children aged 4 to 11 years.
- Work closely with pupils who have speech and language needs.
- Deliver speech and language interventions.
- Build positive, meaningful relationships with students.
- Provide a calm and supportive presence within the classroom.
- Assist children with varying complex needs to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Ability to foster positive and meaningful relationships with pupils.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
