We are seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to work 1-to-1 in a mainstream primary school setting in Erdington. The student you will be supporting is accessing the mainstream classroom and has a lot of academic potential. The role is fully supported by the class teacher and the SENCo who will provide guidance on current planned interventions and support packages.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1-to-1 with a student in the mainstream classroom.
  • Support the student in accessing mainstream curriculum and academic potential.
  • Follow planned interventions and support packages provided by the class teacher and SENCo.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people with SEND needs, either from education or transferable experience from residential, support or care backgrounds.
  • Full UK right to work.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

Working Hours & Pay

  • Monday to Friday: 08:30 to 15:30 during term time only.
  • Starting immediately for a minimum period ending July 2026, with potential extension.
  • Daily rate £93 (PAYE).
