Axcis Education are supporting a mainstream primary school in Erdington who are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant for their SEND hub. The role will be to work with a group of 2-3 pupils with SEND needs including social and emotional needs and speech and communication delays. The school is a friendly and welcoming setting and caters for a range of Special Needs, including ASD and SEMH. The school promotes learning through a range of methods and activities are planned according to the level the child is working at.
To be successful for this role you will:
- Have previous experience supporting young children with profound developmental delays
- Have knowledge or previous experience of using basic Makaton (qualification not required)
- Be able to always remain calm
- Be able to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.
