Do you have experience supporting individuals with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges who display very challenging behaviour? We are currently seeking a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in the Balsall Heath/City Centre area. The role involves working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 6 who is facing SEMH challenges and may display challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will bring a calm demeanour, strong behaviour‑de‑escalation skills, high resilience and a strong work ethic. Experience supporting people with SEMH challenges and a commitment to building dependable, supportive relationships with the child are essential.
Requirements
- Full‑time, long‑term position starting ASAP.
- Experience supporting individuals facing SEMH challenges (Essential).
- Experience managing challenging behaviour (Essential).
- High levels of attendance and commitment (Essential).
- Experience with trauma‑informed practices (Highly desirable).
- Previous experience in a school setting, care or residential background is welcome; personal experience combined with professional practice is valued.
Benefits & Pay
Pay for Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants starts from £89–£105 per day, commensurate with experience.
