Axcis is searching for teaching assistants to work at a SEND school specialising in children with Autism and complex needs. The school caters to children aged 4 to 19 years and tailors provision to each individual's needs.
Responsibilities
- Work on a 1:1 basis with children with exceptional SEND needs who may display challenging behaviour.
- Support the class team by working with other 1:1 children and small groups of 2–3 children.
- Independently follow the teacher's planning and implement sessions accurately and effectively.
- Provide feedback on sessions and contribute to planning.
- Attend full-time hours (8:15 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday).
Requirements
- Experience working one to one with pupils with complex ASD (essential).
- Experience working with individuals who display challenging behaviour (essential).
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required, or willingness to undergo DBS before the position starts (essential).
- Minimum of 2 years of references (essential).
Location & Working Conditions
- Small group and 1:1 basis throughout the academic year.
- The school is located in North Birmingham with parking and public transport.
