A primary school in Wythenshawe is looking for a resilient, positive role model to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil exhibiting challenging behaviours related to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a premium-paid role for an individual who understands that "bad behaviour" is often just communication.
Responsibilities- Acting as a dedicated 1:1 behaviour mentor, keeping the pupil engaged in learning.
- Utilizing de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviours and emotional outbursts.
- Designing and implementing positive reinforcement strategies and reward charts.
- Escorting the pupil during break times and helping them develop positive peer interactions.
- Providing a stable, consistent, and trusted presence throughout the school day.
- Extensive experience managing challenging behaviour (SEMH, ADHD, ODD) in schools, youth clubs, or care settings.
- Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent de-escalation frameworks is a massive advantage.
- A thick skin, incredible patience, and the ability to bounce back every single day.
- A background in sports coaching, youth work, or psychology translates brilliantly here.
