Job Title: Behaviour Support Specialist
Location: Rochdale, Lancashire
Salary: £95 per day
Working Hours: Full-time, 8.30 am to 3.30 pm
We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Specialist to join a school in Rochdale. The role focuses on providing support to students to promote positive behaviours, including work with students who have Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) or who have experienced trauma. The candidate should be capable of de-escalation and delivering trauma-informed approaches within an inclusive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and run interventions designed to equip students with tools for adopting more positive behaviours.
- Provide specialized support for students with ASC and those who have experienced trauma, using a trauma-informed approach.
- Collaborate with the school\’s behaviour team to support the most challenging students, ensuring diverse needs are met.
- Demonstrate resilience and adapt quickly to different scenarios while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Use excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff and parents.
- Continuously evaluate and respond to the needs of each student by delivering tailored support.
- Document and report on student progress and any incidents, maintaining clear and accurate records.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience with ASC students and an understanding of their needs.
- Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma.
- Strong ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour and maintain a safe environment for all.
- High resilience with the capacity to adapt to changing situations.
- Evidence of running successful behavioural interventions.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service is required for this role.
