We are currently looking for a committed, resilient and empathetic Behaviour Support Mentor to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Burnham, working with secondary‑aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education. This role offers the chance to have a real and lasting impact on young people who often face significant barriers to learning, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.
As a Behaviour Support Mentor you will:
- Support students in both one‑to‑one and small group settings, helping them rebuild confidence, re‑engage with education and develop more positive patterns of behaviour.
- Act as a stable and trusted adult, helping pupils form appropriate relationships, regulate their emotions and move towards more positive life choices.
- Manage behaviour and de‑escalate difficult situations, setting firm but fair boundaries while maintaining a supportive and respectful approach.
- Build rapport quickly with young people who may have had disrupted or difficult educational experiences.
