SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bath, BA1
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Long-term with the opportunity to become permanent
Pay: £90-£105 per day (depending on experience)

Axcis Education is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming primary and secondary schools across Bath. This is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference by supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence and achieve their full potential.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and SEND professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and other learning differences.
The Role
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and confidence.
- Help pupils develop communication, social and emotional skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents to provide consistent support.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people, either in schools or other settings.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Patience, resilience and a positive attitude.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
- We also welcome applications from care assistants, support workers, youth workers, sports coaches, psychology graduates and anyone with transferable skills.
