Axcis Education is working with a fantastic primary school seeking a committed and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This is a full-time, term-time role ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support to a primary-aged child with ASD
  • Assisting with classroom tasks, communication, and emotional regulation
  • Implementing strategies and routines in line with the child’s EHCP
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team

Requirements

  • SEND experience, ideally with children on the Autism Spectrum
  • A valid enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce) registered on the update service – essential
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to behaviour support
  • Strong communication and team-working skills
