We are currently recruiting 2 experienced SEND Teaching Assistants for a special needs primary school in Smethwick, within the Sandwell area. These are full-time, long-term positions starting in September, offering the chance to work in a highly supportive and rewarding environment. The successful candidates will be working with children who have a range of complex needs, providing 1:1 and small group support, and helping to create a nurturing space where pupils can thrive both socially and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support for pupils with special educational needs
- Assist in implementing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support pupils' emotional, social, and learning development
- Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- School or nursery experience is essential
- Experience working with children with SEN is essential
- Calm, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
- Valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
