Axcis Education are supporting an independent SEND provision in Newton Abbot, seeking a full‑time Science Teacher (or Unqualified Science Teacher) to deliver bespoke science lessons to a post‑16 student with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 basis. The working hours are from 8:30 to 4:30, with a pay rate of £145‑£210 a day depending on experience.

The successful candidate will design and deliver personalised Economics lessons that meet the student’s individual learning needs, interests and aspirations whilst working within a highly supportive team that collaborates to help every learner overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and tailored Economics lessons on a 1:1 basis.
  • Support the educational and personal development of a post‑16 student with ASD and complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and therapists to provide a holistic learning experience.
  • Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience teaching Economics at secondary or college level.
  • Qualified Science Teachers (QTS or equivalent) encouraged to apply.
  • Unqualified Teachers with relevant experience are also welcome.
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people or learners with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
  • A nurturing, patient and positive approach to building relationships with students.
